Hebridean Dreams

Work in Progress: elegaic multi-disciplinary project: book, film & installation

In parallel to my creative work I have been a nature-friendly farmer in Cornwall and the Outer Hebrides.

Whilst working on the land, I have created a body of work in response to those experiences:

poems, stories, drawings, paintings, photographs, video.

I have also collected artefacts – skulls, hides, feathers, fur, bones, horns – derived from the farming.

These elements are the starting point.

It’s about:

the quest to build a home

dreams that become nightmares and are re-made

love and loss

life-death-life cycles

and a connection to the land and livestock

living and working with native animals and trees

that keeps you going meanwhile.
